Yay! Your Diaphragm Consult is Coming Up!

I’m so excited to see you soon! To make sure everything goes smoothly, here’s a quick checklist of what you need to do before and on the day of your consult.

Before Your Consult

✔ Complete all Required Forms are completed

• Log into your Better Portal and double-check that all required forms are completed:

Android Better App, Apple Better App

1. Diaphragm Consult Form

2. Waiver

3. Pre-Consult Session Form

Note: If you're coming in for a combined Pelvic Health and Diaphragm Consult, there may be additional forms to complete.

• If anything is missing, please fill it out at least 24 hours in advance to avoid delays.

✔ Watch the Pre-Consult Session & Complete Required Quizzes

• The Pre-Consult Session is a required 2-hour recorded workshop that must be watched at least 72 hours before your consult.

• You can find the session in the Library: NotjustMD.com/library.

• Complete all quizzes and the final form as part of this session. This session provides the key knowledge and confidence needed for effective diaphragm use, ensuring the best possible fit and maximizing its efficacy.

✔ Plan for Childcare

• If you are bringing a nursling or child, they must be accompanied by an additional adult.

• This consult is interactive, hands-on, and requires full focus.

• For all of us, hearing our babies whine or cry tenses our pelvic muscles, which affects the diaphragm sizing.

✔ Confirm Your Payment Plan

• Make sure you and your husband have finalized your preferred payment option before the consult to keep everything running smoothly.

• You can review payment options on the original consult page: https://www.notjustmd.com/asdfwetag.

• There is no secretary, handling payments quickly at the end of the consult allows us to maximize your consult time.

• If you’re planning to bring cash, please withdraw it in advance. If paying by credit card, confirm which card you’ll use and have the details ready.

• You may also want to budget for extras like lubricants and other Pelvic Health products available at the consult.

✔ Gather Your Essentials

Bring the following with you to the consult:

• 2 large towels + 2 hand towels – Preferably dark-colored and ones you actually like (not old shmatas). Bringing something familiar from home can help make the experience more comfortable and relaxed.

• While spotting isn't expected and the consult is clean, we use dark towels just in case any spotting occurs.

The Day of Your Consult

✔ Eat & Hydrate Well

• Consults typically last 2+ hours, but may run longer. To stay comfortable, bring extra food or snacks. Eating well helps shift your nervous system into a parasympathetic state (rest and digest), which allows your pelvic muscles to relax. This consult is much more active than a standard GYN visit, so being well-fed and hydrated is essential.

✔ Clear Your Schedule & Minimize Post-Consult Responsibilities

• If possible, arrange for someone else to pick up your kids and have backup plans in case we run late or you get stuck in traffic.

• The more relaxed you are about your schedule after the consult, the smoother the experience will be.

• Avoid scheduling anything stressful, like an exam or being the sole person available for school pickup, immediately after your consult.

• If you can, plan for some personal downtime or, at the very least, ensure you don’t need to rush home.

✔ Dress Comfortably

• Wear/bring some type of flowy skirt, most find it helpful since there is a lot of getting up to check size and I don’t think anyone is a fan of exam/hospital gowns. Keep in mind that the skirt you wear may get lubricant on it, so you may want to bring a change of clothes, and extra underpants as well.

• If you wear a sheitel, bring a comfy Tichel or pre-tied for a more relaxed experience.

• Since it’s winter and the floors can be cold, consider bringing extra socks or slippers for added comfort.

✔ Check Parking & Arrival Instructions
